Wentworth Park tips and best bets

Eleven races are on the card for tonight as we head towards Saturday night's massive finale to what has been an awesome autumn in the Million Dollar Chase. Some good dogs will be heading to the boxes in that final, but in the meantime we have 11 winners for us to try and help you find.

Race 1: NSW GBOTA Welcome Maiden 520m

Spring Angus has been going well on the TAB tracks (although costly for anyone taking the shorts) and has placed here previously and will be hard to beat with some luck off the 7. Cheeky Bon Bon has been progressing nicely before running last and going for a spell. She is in astute hands and should be up for this. Final Lockdown is another that is coming back off a break after the big Easter Maiden series, and if he was good enough to be in that, he is a massive chance in this. Gartholomew will appreciate being near the fence and must be given a chance.

Race 2: Ladbroke It! 1-2 Wins 5th Grade 520m

Bullheaded draws his box tonight and used it well to win at in good time. Expect him to be improved off recent racing and go mighty close. Nordic Thunder has been good at Goulburn, but this is not Goulburn and he can be tardy at box rise. Send It Tiger has been mixing his form but is certainly good enough to win this. Rockstar Jimmy will appreciate the drop back to restricted company from his last two efforts in the and the Bob Payne, and the kennel must have an opinion to give him a crack at those. Ten Hut and Skipper's Light have been collecting cheques recently, but the grand prize looks beyond them here.

Race 3: TAB MDC Saturday 1-2 Wins 5th Grade 520m

Sunnyside Boy deserves a change of luck and might well get it tonight. He draws the inside for the first time in his career and should make the most of the favourable draw. Fat Boy's Lucky has been racing well around the northern TAB circuit but will need luck coming to town for his first go, although is in very smart hands. Me Same You has placed in four from five here, but his tardy starts have cost him heavily. Ferocious Ezmae took care of Springview Angus at Dapto last week, and while a maiden straight into fifth grade is rarely a good bet, this girl has something. She is not well boxed out there, however, which makes it tough unless she crosses.

Race 4: Handsome Prince @ Newhaven Stud 1-2 Wins 5th Grade 520m

Papa Joe had been going well before he bombed the start last week here. He finds a nice winnable restricted race and if he can begin, he can win this. Grevell Creed hasn't missed a place in six career starts to date but has been tardy and worked in to the races. He races like the 520m will suit him perfectly, but the two turns and the slow starts might be his undoing. Rockstar Sue is another Shaun Evans dog that went from Puppy Classic to Ladies Bracelet and now back to a restricted-wins race and so must be a chance. Especially Rare has been in great form, only getting beaten by some good dogs (Ties That Bind) recently in the Ladies Bracelet and will find this easier but is awkwardly drawn outside the 6.

Race 5: Ladbrokes Same Race Multi 1-2 Wins 5th Grade 520m

Guelph is a young girl in very good hands and has a big future ahead of her. She draws inside of box 3 for the first time in her career, and if she can run sectionals like she did when she recorded a 29.8 win here, she will be winning this as well. She is especially helped with a slow beginner beside her. Spread My Wings has improved every run since coming back for a break and should be at peak fitness for this, which is not easy, but must be a chance. Romantic Style had no luck going from maiden to fifth grade and now that she has that run under her belt she may bounce straight back, so watch carefully. Electric Data has ability and has six placings from eight runs here but doesn't win out of turn. Mexican Bandit may be the biggest threat to the red. He ran 30 dead off box 7, likes to use a bit of the track, is well drawn out here, and is another that couldn't do the maiden-to-fifth-grade double and is looking to strike back.

Race 6: Sponsor A Race @ WP 4th/5th Grade 520m

Serengeti may just be the only leader in this race and may get and unimpeded run to the front. If that happens, she will be hard to beat. Impress Dressel drops back from the MDC headstand must be included and is from the flying Lord kennel. was good here in fourth/fifth grade before taking on FFA company and is better placed back here, and Rodney Metselaar's two Tap Out dogs – Sniper and Diesel – are both serious chasers but tend to be tardy early.

Race 7: Ladbrokes Switch 5th Grade 520m

Ocular has shown plenty in his last few starts and, despite the awkward draw, will get a bit of room as the 5 like to go left early. If he can improve a little more , he will be hard to beat. Blackjackist won well here before a let up and came back with a bang at . Not well drawn in the middle but has the ability to overcome the draw. Blue Blazer's run at Gosford was impressive and if he can bring that to town, he definitely has a shot. Sweptail is always a chance in these races, and What About That has beaten Sweptail recently, has tried tougher races recently and is a hope.

Race 8: Handsome Prince @ Newhaven Stud Free For All 520m

Agent Aspen is the interesting runner of the night and has very good Tasmanian form, albeit in the higher grades, and this is a big ask first up in NSW but obviously has ability. Try Catch Jett has been flying and his win over Falcon Fly has been franked with that dog flying around Goulburn recently. He has exceptional early toe and that will see him a chance in a tough race. Connections had been motoring at and breaking clocks on the way. Awkwardly drawn but has the ability and the class to overcome it. Sally's Reward has the pace to lead and if she can, she can certainly win too. So a nice open race to finish the quaddie.

Race 9: Ladbrokes Cash In Mixed 720m

The stayers are our next contest and it is an interesting race. was good in his 720m debut, will be improved from the hit-out and if doesn't get cluttered up early is a big chance. Xavi Bale tried the Gold Cup to make his staying debut, and if Amanda Durham thinks he was a rough hope there, he will appreciate the massive class drop here. Lucky Dice has had a freshen up and just wins if he gets the breaks – he is that good -but, geez, he can find some trouble in his races.

Race 10: #getyourgreyhoundon 5th Grade 520m

Zambora Charlie showed what he is capable of coming from last to first to win here last week in moderate time. Coming from last early is a recipe for disaster here at Wenty, so he will need to improve his box manners. One that couldn't improve her box manners much is . She has been superb of late, her 29.8 win here two weeks back is good enough to win this, and she is 1/1 from out here. Lightnin' Ethics was flying before running into a good field in the heats of the Ladies Bracelet. She can run quick early sections and can hold the pink out to the first corner, which would enhance her chances, and she has a 29.8 PB here herself. Bless Shoe draws the inside for the first time in her career and must be given a minor chance.

Race 11: wentworthpark.com.au 5th Grade 520m

A really open and tough event to . Every runner has a hope and none of them have had a win around here. Big Town Hero ran a close second to Zambora Charlie – who is in the previous, so that might be a guide – and Go The Cash was third in the same race. Go Forward Daisy was in good form before running fourth on debut here and will improve from that run. Cruise Or Lose is honest but is 0/13 here. Maggie's Habit has shown good pace over the sprints and therefore should have the pace to lead, and that might just be the winning position around the first turn in this. Fat Boy's Charm has been racing so well up north and is placed both runs from the wide draw.
