Wentworth Park tips, quaddie & best odds | Wednesday 21/12/2022
Merry Christmas from all of us here at Australian Racing Greyhound, and let's hope this Wednesday's 10-race card at Wentworth Park can fill your stockings and roast your chestnuts with a few winners to tide you over the holiday period.
Best Bet: Double Baroque
This son of Dyna Double One and Stayers Inn might be looking for further, as evidenced by his recent Dapto 600m win, but he gets into this fifth-grade event as the only dog to have won twice on this track and also has a couple of placings to go with those wins. His moderate box manners are the only thing stopping this boy becoming a top-grader, as he is usually right in amongst the scrimmages at the first turn here and just needs luck. There is no doubt he is the classiest and strongest runner in this race, and box eight should suit in this six-dog affair. He has three wins and three placings in his 11-race career and is definitely still improving with racing. He just needs an ounce of luck and to miss any traffic.
Danger: Darkseid has improved in both his runs for the Mark Davidson camp. Third-up he might be ready to show his best, and he can handle any box.

Next Best Bet: Coast Model
Even with only six runners, this is a quality free-for-all race. What an iron lady Coast Model has become for the Lord kennels. She recently ran in the Dapto Megastar series and backed that up with a gallant second in the Group 3 Christmas Gift. She doesn't possess the early zip she had earlier in her career, but still has above-average early pace and has developed a dour ability to just keep coming. Now having her 74th start, she has been in and around every good race there has been in the last 12 months, including running second in a Million Dollar Chase. The vacant box on her outside will help, as she like to stay in the centre of the track. The question is, can she lead Yuko Girl? If she does, she wins; if she doesn't, can she grind Yuko Girl down late?
Danger: Yuko Girl looks like she might be able to hold the rails and lead this field. When she leads she is very hard to run down, but she won't want to make any mistakes with the Model close by.

Best Value Bet: Stunning Chick
Dave Smith rugs up this daughter of Fernando Bale and Sheez My Chicki, and based on her early Maitland form and the fact she won a heat of the Maitland Future Stars series, which is no mean feat, this girl obviously has ability. She has only had the five career starts, and her win and her placing were both from box three — the nearest she has been to the fence. She now comes up with box one for the first time in her career, and this should enhance her chances. The concern is that she often dwells at the start before trying to muster speed, and that can be troublesome here at Wentworth Park. Also, her whole career has been on the big one-turn tracks. However, Smith knows what he is doing and will have trialled her here and will have her ready.
