Black Tsunami wins 2023 Devonport Country Derby at Hobart
Last night at Hobart, the Mick Stringer-trained Black Tsunami won the 2023 Devonport Country Derby, with the race being run at Hobart over 461m.
The son of Shima Shine and Ritzy Chicki was sent out the generous +240 favourite with greyhound betting sites after winning his Devonport Country Derby heat last week, in the best of the night time of 25.56.
Starting from box three in the $5,270 to-the-winner final, supporters might have had some cause for concern when Black Tsunami began worse than midfield, but slotted in behind the leaders on the rail, before making a determined run from the home corner to claim the lead in the shadows of the post.
