Brown’s Maiden Group 1 Finalist To Fly The Victorian Flag

will represent Victoria at the Championship in Adelaide after a blistering win in the Victorian Final at Sandown Park tonight.

Beginning well from box 3, Cosmic Chief ($5.10) proved too strong in the run to the line, defeating Iceman Raikkonen by 3.75 lengths in a new personal best 29.61.

Kennel and littermate Cosmic Planet ($19) finished a further half length away third.

The win took Cosmic Chief's impressive record to 15 wins from 39 starts and took the Classic winner's prizemoney beyond $132,000. It also gives Brown his first finalist.

Joining Cosmic Chief in Adelaide will be the Heather Collins trained . Despite finding early trouble and finishing fourth, Arsonist progressed to the $50,000 to the winner final as the AGRA Wildcard, earned as the highest ranked greyhound to contest (but not win) their state final.

Victoria will be seeking its 13th Sprint Championship and first since 's four time race winner won the 2005 title at Wentworth Park.

The National Sprint Championship Grand Final will be run at Angle Park, Adelaide on Saturday 28 August.
