Another Winning Day Of Coursing For Matcott

In fine sunny conditions, coursing got underway with an 8 race program. Shaun Matcott and his able helpers scooped the pool, leading in a total of 5 winners – Dyna Rose, Seven Hundred, Bambi Bale, Belle Bale and Kid Rockdale. Peter Hurley opened his season with a double supplied by Emerley Theme and Slipper’s Tonic.

Many Hotchins came coursing and went home with a winner in Arvo’s Africano. Fastest time of the day was provided by Belle Bale when running 15.19 in her second course. With the season just about at the half way mark, Shaun Matcott has an almost unassailable lead with 59 points on the Leading Trainer table.

Slipper’s Luck leads the charge on 8 points with Crime Fighter and Slipper’s Tonic level pegging with 6 points each. 39 Trainers have been able to raise flags to date with a total of 100 dogs also raising at least 1 flag. Remember, coursing form provides an incentive for your dogs on the circle with over 70% either winner or placing at their next start on the circle.

Our next feature date is scheduled for 17 July when we will be running the 2011 Rising Star Stakes – a classic aged event for dogs and bitches whelped on or after 1 July 2009 and the 2011 Patrons Cup – an open event for the best 16 dogs nominated. Prizemoney details will appear in Kennel Capers. Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday 3 July with normal graded events – remember, nominations close with GRSA at 9.00 am Wednesday 29 June.
