Coursing Doubles To Shepherd & Harvey At Virginia
In ideal coursing conditions, racing was keenly contested with both Murray Harvey and Barry Shepheard taking home the spoils.
The day started well for Shaun Laffin when Bad Ragaz took out the Macro Meats Veterans Stake and then Murray Harvey had both finalists in the Ruby Loans Rising Star Prelude with Bitta Surf proving just a bit stronger than Bitta Wedding; his other winner was Bitta Beer in the Kennards Hire Novice Stake.
Inferno Master provided Des Hockley with a win in the Emerley Park Maiden Stake. Barry Shepheard had a good trip home with two winners in the trailer, Lucy Wilds and Cee Moonie.
John Rees also travelled far but Mr Miller would have helped the trip home when successful in the Racing is Fun Syndication Maiden. Michael Taylor had to wait to the last event for Deanna to salute the judge.
Owners and trainers are reminded that our next meeting is scheduled for 23 August and our feature events for the day are :
- th Ruby Loans Rising Star Stakes (best 16 dogs/bitches whelped on or after 1 July 2007) Winner $1,800 + Trophy & Rug + Free Service to Cool Effort (thanks to Charmer Lodge) + statue donated by Karon Blakemore
- and the Patrons Cup (Open – best 16 greyhounds nominated) – Winner $1,800 + Trophy & Rug. Remember, that coursing form is graded before circle form.
