Do That Does Just That For Reid At Casino

Exciting young prospect set the time standard through the Meat -E- Vite Extra Pro heats last with a scintillating 27.41 demolition of her rivals.

Overcoming box six, she soon found the fence, and trailed the leader as they went down the back.

Coming down the side, she railed through to and scooted away. In the “wash up” she bolted in by 5 1/2 lengths.

Do That has now had four starts for three wins, and after this week's final may be going to race in Victoria. She's owned and trained by Matthew Reid who also got another runner through in Bolero Queen. She also railed well, and held off to win by a half length in 28.13. This made it a treble for Matthew, as earlier in the day Mansell had decisively scored in the Rural Traders Distance race winning by 6 1/4 lengths in 35.96.

The other two heats of the Meat-E-Vite Extra Pro Trophy went to Just Elvis who ran 28.10 for Craig Nowlan, whilst Sid Rose Hi who recorded 27.77 for Trevor Thompson. Do That has plenty of “time” on her opponents in this Friday's final, and does look to have a motgage on the race. Her inexperience could be her only draw back.

was again into the action with two winners. Maiden final runner up last week, Hayden's Run atoned for that defeat by leading all of the way in the Westlawn Finance stake. He ran the best of the day over the shorts – 23.09. converted the double when he made a big run in the middle stages to run past the leaders and run 23.36. He won by 1 1/2 lengths.

Track specialist Zip Zip Marina took the step up to top grade in her stride by taking out the Casino RSM Club Free For All. She led from the first bend and kicked clear. Although Bralyn Sal tried hard, Zip Zip Marina had too much start and held on to win by a neck in 27.62. trains her.

After a training double at the last meeting, was again in the winners circle when Surf Raft scored. Getting over from box five he railed to perfection to take up the running before saluting by a length in 23.74.

Flaming Grace defied all attempts to run her down when she took out the second distance rac in 35.98 for Steve Casey, and the string of minor placings for Lawless Larrikin was broken when he was able to take out the Mc Donald's Pharmacy maiden in 27.95 for Pat Lavis.

In the other event Solo Adios continued 's good run when she won the Richmond Valley Pet Foods maiden in 23.50.

Finally a “wrap” for our curator Wayne Greber. After a week of rain, (some 300mls) he was able to prepare the track in outstanding condition as some of the above times will show. It's a painstaking job with little reward.

Casino race again this Friday afternoon.
