Elite Win In Muswellbrook GRNSW Country Challenge

Age was no barrier as 's much travelled four year old chaser Something Elite ran away with a comfortable victory and a valuable eight series points in the opening leg of the 2008/09 GRNSW Country Challenge at on Sunday.

Heavily supported in the betting ring, Something Elite started a pronounced favourite with his main challengers being and Groovin' The Moo on the back of their heat wins.

Racing straight to the front, the son of gave his rivals no chance and bounded to a commanding 6 and ¾ length win, running a 25.31 seconds over the 429 metre distance.

The Muswellbrook leg of the GRNSW Country Challenge is the first of 28 finals across the state with the highest point scoring greyhound at the end of the 28 track series crowned GRNSW Country Challenge Champion and the collecting a $10,000 .

The highly successful Country Challenge Showdown event will be conducted again in July next year at in Sydney. The top eight points scorers in the Country Challenge series will be invited to compete in the Showdown and race for prizemoney totalling $20,000.

The next event in the 2008/09 GRNSW Country Challenge Series will be held at Taree, with heats this coming holiday Monday and the final on Saturday 11 October 2008.
