Forty Seven Nominations For Qld National Championships
At the close of nominations yesterday Greyhounds Queensland has recieved a total 47 nominations had been received the the Queensland state heats of the 2009 Schweppes National Sprint and Distance Championships.
18 greyhounds were nominated the Queensland National Distance Championships including recent Albion Park winners Miss Amy Jade, Seminole and Dashing Top Hat.
For the Queensland National Sprint Championships 29 nominations were recieved including four time group winning glamour bitch Queen Lauryn who has elected to take on the sprint heats rather than the distance heats and will also come up against three time group winner High Earner.
Both the Queensland National Sprint Championships heats and the Queensland National Distance Championships will be held Thursday 6th August 2009 with the final run a week later on Thursday 13th August 2009.
Winners of the Queensland State Finals qualify with other State finalists for the $50,000 Grand Finals (Group 1) over 530 metres and 715 metres at Cannington on September 5.
In addition, in each distance category, the highest ranked greyhound from the AGRA National Rankings as at July 31, 2009 that competed in their respective State Final but did not win their State Final will qualify for the Grand Final at Cannington.
