GHRRA Strengthen Disqualified Person Rules
The NSW Greyhound and Harness racing Authority (GHRRA) today announced a newa ddition to the Local Racing Rules that seeks to strengthen rules surrounding disqualified persons.
The new rule to come in to effect as of the 1st August 2008, further adds to existing rules surrounding offences, inquiries and penalties; and will help address the problem whereby a disqualified person merely “transfers” tha training of the greyhounds in to a relatives name but seeks to still live on the property.
The Rule. to be known as Local Rule 101A, is detailed below:
A person shall not, without prior written approval of the Controlling Body, train or keep a greyhound on premises which are:
(a) Occupied by a disqualified person or defaulter or warned off person
(b) Used by a disqualified person or defaulter or warned off person for any business or other purpose.
