Greyhound Racing Victoria launches Dream Chasers Festival
Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) announced on Monday they have launched what it calls “The World's Richest Greyhound Racing Series” – the Dream Chasers Festival.
Trainers, owners and breeders will race for over $4.1 million in prizemoney over five Saturday nights of high-level greyhound racing at The Meadows and Sandown Park in Melbourne from November 5.
According to GRV, the Dream Chasers Festival is “an ensemble of the most iconic, and newest, greyhound races in Victoria, headlined by five rich Group 1 races, first-class hospitality, dining, and off-track entertainment offerings for the young and young at heart heralding an exciting new era of greyhound racing in Victoria”.
GRV acting chief executive officer Stuart Laing said the festival promises to re-define the experience of a night at the track.
“The Dream Chasers Festival will showcase an unrivalled premium racing and entertainment experience,” he said.
“People attending any one of the five nights of the festival will be treated to fabulous entertainment and hospitality both on and off the track, and an experience to remember that we anticipate will inspire both current fans and a whole new audience to enjoy greyhound racing at its best.
“Dream Chasers is all about fun, the thrill of the chase and being live trackside to witness our top dogs, trainers, owners and breeders achieve their racing dreams on the biggest stage at the most lucrative greyhound racing festival in the world.”
The Dream Chasers Festival kicks off with The Top Gun on November 5 and ending with The Phoenix on December 17.
