Ipswich Golden Chase puppy auction nominations closing soon
Greyhound owners, breeders and trainers are reminded of the Ipswich Golden Chase Puppy Auction nominations close this week.
All Ipswich Golden Chase nominations must be submitted by Friday, August 16, 2024.
The auction is set to take place at the Ipswich Showgrounds greyhound complex on Saturday, October 12.
Puppies that are sold through either the auction or buy-in categories will have the opportunity to participate in the series of Golden Chase races in 2026, which will be held at newly developed The Q greyhound racing precinct.
The Q will be Queensland greyhound racing’s new million dollar three track complex located in Purga.
A total prize pool of $180,000 will be up for grabs across three race series:
- The Golden Chase 520m series on track Q2 with a prize money of $110,000 and $75,000 going to the winning connections.
- The Golden Chase 450m series on track Q1 offering $50,000 with $33,000 for the winner. Additionally there will be an event.
- The Golden Chase Straight Track series on course QS with $20,000 in prizes and $12,000 going to the winner.
The Ipswich puppy auction is open to puppies born between October 1, 2023, and June 1, 2024.
The breeder who wins the Golden Chase 520m series will also receive a bonus of $10,000.
