Current Situation

The cool damp weather overnight kept fire activity to a minimum. Crews continued to monitor the fire and extinguish any hotspots

Crews today will continue with the consolidation of the containment lines and extinguish and hotspot.

Recovery Centres

Recovery centres have been at the following locations:
Boollarra at the Multipurpose Centre, Church Street (Thurs & Fri this week, Wed after that)
Churchill at the Churchill Hub – 51222818 or 51223953
at the Traralgon Relief Centre, Cnr Grey & Breed St
Traralgon South at the Traralgon South Town Hall
Yarram Recovery Centre Pelican Room at the Wellington Shire Offices, Yarram (open 9am-5pm) 1300 859 224

People wanting assistance are advised to register by visiting one of the recovery centres above or by calling 1800 017 777.

People contacting the above centres will speak with a recovery officer who will help to identify their needs and organise assistance to meet those needs.

Register with the Red Cross and let police know you are safe and well

is urging Gippsland residents in the fire affected areas to register their details with the Red Cross immediately.

Electricity Supply Update

More than 375 SP AusNet and mutual aid crews have been able to restore power to more 9,000 homes since Saturday.

There are still about 250 homes in the Churchill – Jeeralang area whose electricity supply has been destroyed by fire, with crews working as quickly as possible to rebuild this infrastructure.
