The daughter of Bombastic Shiraz and Winsome Bluebird was trained by Paul Stuart and faced the starter of 51 occasions from which she amassed the incredible record of 42 wins and six minor placings. The stunning red fawn bitch claimed five Group One races throughout her time on the track as well as one Group Two and one Group Three feature.
Miata also set or equalled nine track records throughout her career with all three which she set at her home track of Cannington still existing over 530m (29.81), 642m (36.55) and 715m (41.30). She was crowned Australian Greyhound of the Year for two years running in 2012 and 2012-2013.
Miata tasted success in six different states and retired in 2013 as Australia’s highest prize money earner with $715,508 to her name. Since her retirement she has made the transition to motherhood. Her first litter to Barcia Bale was whelped in November 2013 while late last month she whelped another litter, this time to Turanza Bale.
She was a deserving inductee into the Hall of Fame which recognises the great past and present champions of WA racing. Also among those inducted on Saturday night were star galloper Scenic Blast, popular trainers Gary Hall Snr and Neville Parnham and jockey Paul Harvey.
