VICTORIAN chasers secured the quinella in the Oaks (535m) on night, with Mumma Josie defeating to collect the $40,000 winner's .

When the lids flew open it was a mad scramble for the lead, with Mumma Josie (box one) pushing up along the fence to charge to the front around the first turn.

However, the -trained bitch wasn't left alone out in front, with Up Hill Jill (box four) and (box eight) applying the pressure down the back.

Swinging around the home turn it was still a line of three, with Mumma Josie with her head just in front.

Despite a late challenge from Up Hill Jill, Mumma Josie was able to hold on to score, winning by a nose in 30.76.

Local chaser Where Art Thou produced a massive run to finish third, with race favourite Striker Light tiring after doing plenty of work throughout the race, finishing sixth.

A daughter of and Charming Louise, Mumma Josie has now won 19 of her 60 starts with an additional 17 minor placings, whilst the 29-kilogram bitch has now earned $117,010 in prize money earnings.
