BLITZING Lass has upstaged some of her more fancied rivals to score a commanding victory in the Group 3 Magic Maiden (520m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.
Jumping from box five, Blitzing Lass was quickly into stride, matching motors with Fortunes Of Time (box seven) in the early stages before kicking away in the run around the first turn.
From that point in time the Jodie Van Enkhuyzen-trained greyhound continued to extend her lead, crossing the line three-and-one-quarter lengths clear of Fortunes In Time in a nippy 30.09.
The 26-kilogram pocket rocket has now won two of her three starts, with the victory taking the daughter of Milldean Panther and Miss Blockbuster’s career earnings above $30,000.
Set To Storm (box eight) ran a nice race to finish third, whilst race favourite Midnight Francis (box four) was poorly away and never got in contention, finishing fifth.
