Bradley Field Gets Three Months For Caffeine Positive

NSW Stewards on the 6th Janury 2009, concluded an Inquiry into the positive finding of , Theobromine, Theophylline and in the urine sample taken from when it competed at on 9th October 2008.

On the day in question Run Brioney ( ~ ) easily won a mixed stake in the best of the day, running 22.60 for the 400m Maitland journey, starting at $3 and winning by 3.25 lengths. The win was Run Bioney's fourth win from her nine starts with two other placings.

The subsequent urine positive swab finding was consistent with of Caffeine and additionally demonstrated Theobromine, Theophylline and Paraxanthine; all metabolites of Caffeine found in urine.

was charged with a breach of Rule 83(2)(a) in that he failed to present Run Brioney for racing, drug free.

Bradley Field was unable to offer Stewards an explanation as to how the urine sample returned positive to Caffeine, Theobromine, Theophylline and Paraxanthine.

After receiving submissions, Stewards disqualified Bradley Field for 3 months, effective 6th January 2009, for his breach of Rule 83(2)(a).

He was advised of his right of Appeal.

Run Brioney was disqualified from the event.
