Col Ison Memorial Heats Provide Great Racing At Gosford

Four heats of the over 400m were conducted at Gosford on Tuesday night last & a very good field will participate in the Final next week. Col's wife Dorene will be on hand to present the trophy to the winner of the race.

The first heat was taken out by owned & trained by in 23.23secs.

Heat two went to the Dominic Traino trained She's A Melody in 23.43; with heat three going to for in 23.37.

The fourth & Final heat went to for Denis Ford from Rydal in 23.78. As you can see not much separates the heat winners, so next week's Final should be a cracker.

Another good field will line up in a Mixed Final over 515m next Tuesday night, following the running of heats last Tuesday.

The first heat went to Tiny Tallulah for Edward Trenholme from the first starter Tian Hao Miss trained by Ray Steele, whilst heat two saw first starter trained by defeat Laurie's Flash another first starter trained by Laurie Refalo.

atoned for her second placing last week, when she scored a last stride victory over Joan's Magic in the 5th Grade 600m event. In a finish which had opinions divided Nevada Sunrise arrived in the nick of time to score by ½ a head from Joan's Magic with Lonely Living third.

Having his first Gosford start Sins Spirit recorded a B.O.N performance when he ran down the early leader Tommy Power to score by 2 lens in a smart 30.19. Owned & trained by Chris Dooley at Cessnock, Sins Spirit made it win number twenty with another twenty minors from just forty nine starts.

Another good winner on the night was Modern Delta trained by at Greta, who led throughout to score by 2 lens in 30.29. Gosford race again next Tuesday, with the feature being the Final of the Col Ison Memorial.
