Outgoing Dapto Greyhound Club Secretary/Manager Wayne Billett has welcomed a $10,000 grant from the State Government to improve showground facilities.
The grant, which will be used to upgrade the toilet and amenities block, is part of a $2 million package available to race clubs after equine influenza.
“We are delighted that our application received a positive response,” Billett said. “We have been improving facilities for punters here over the past couple of years and the new toilets are the next step in the process.”
Minister for Gaming and Racing Graham West said he hoped the grant would “build a stronger future” for Dapto dogs.
Meanwhile, the search for a replacement for Mr Billet continues.
Wayne Billet announced his resignation from his long held position with the club last month to further pursue his managerial career at the Dandaloo Hotel.
The club is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Secretary Manager to oversee the Dapto A & H Society and Dapto Greyhound Racing Club overall operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Secretary Manager will be responsible for the management of all the complex’s overall operations.
Applications are set to close with the club tomorrow, Friday 13th June 2008.
