Faster Than A Speeding Bullet

The Schweppes Silver Bullet, worth $5,000 to the winner is the feature event of Today’s a meeting over the flying 400 metres, which is race five the first leg of the NSW and Victorian quaddie.

The Silver Bullet was a signature race of the now defunct Beaumont Park circuit and was won by such chasers as Ken Cheetham’s NSW Greyhound of the Year How’s The Fort and the champion Lochinvar trainer has a great chance to win it again in 2010 with promising galloper, Macey.

Macey is a littermate of top flight sprinter, New Divide, who will be the favourite for his respective Semi-final of the Group One Rock Energy Drinks Paws Of Thunder at on Saturday night. Macey has an imposing record herself, only missing a place once in her twenty start career and winning on nine occasions.

The daughter of Big Daddy Cool and Proper Honey will have to turn the tables on the Artie Armstrong trained Looks Like Lyn, which defeated her by two lengths in the fastest qualifier last week.

While Looks Like Lyn ran the fastest heat time, the Julie Edmondson owned and trained Stylish Daymo will probably start the nominal favourite for today’s main event. The son of Pure Octane and Stylish Sal defeated a similar field including Macey and Looks Like Lyn, running time over the Maitland 400 metres circuit two starts ago.

In the Memorial the form analyst has rated number eight, Sean’s Pet a $6 chance, but thinks he’s the greyhound to beat, stating;

“SEAN’S PET (8) led throughout running fast early & overall times when resuming from a spell last week, good beginner with zip that can whoosh, hard to beat”
