The measure has been successful in providing a guide to wagering and increasing the perception of integrity on our racing. The measure was incorporated into the GRNSW TAB Grading Policy.
At its Tuesday 22 February meeting, the GRNSW Board approved two additional clauses to the TAB Grading Policy with respect to qualification for races through performance qualifying trials.
The new clauses are listed below.
These clauses were introduced to ensure that greyhounds are competitive when nominating for TAB races, after competing satisfactorily in a performance trial in a certain distance category.
GRNSW believes that these measures will further increase the confidence in our racing through greater accountability and integrity.
The new clauses take effect from 21 March.
- New TAB Grading Policy Clause 3.8:
“Any greyhound which competes satisfactorily in a performance trial of less than 440 metres shall not be nominated at a distance of greater than 440 metres for its first race start.”
- New TAB Grading Policy Clause 3.9:
“Any maiden greyhound which competes satisfactorily in a Non-TAB race at a distance of 440 metres or less shall not be nominated for a TAB maiden race at a distance of greater than 440 metres at its next start.”
