GRNSW Conducts Out Of Competition Testing

Greyhound () over the last two days have conducted state-wide of greyhounds in the lead-up to the One and the Group Two AAA Radiator heats this weekend.

Testing was conducted to find the presence of Erythropoitin (EPO) and its derivatives. The samples will also be analysed by the newly formed screening process for the prohibited substance Myo-inositol Trispyrophosphate (ITPP).

Over 48 samples were taken from greyhounds in kennels from the Central Coast, Hunter, Western Districts, South Coast and Metropolitan NSW regions.

For the first time out of competition tests were also conducted in-conjunction with Greyhound stewards on greyhound properties in Victoria including those at areas such as Lara and Anakie.

Out of competition testing forms an integral component of GRNSW's ongoing prohibited substance detection strategy, confirming its stance against illicit substance use.

Out of competition testing is conducted under the provisions of Rule R79A which provides specifically for out of competition sampling.
