The Corey Spliet trained chaser has been reignited after somewhat of a form slump at the beginning of the year, recording his eighth win at the track, and his fourth win in his past six starts.
“It was great to see him break the record. The track was very quick on Friday which helped, but he’s putting it all together now at the start and finish. He was a little hit and miss before, but now he’s beginning a lot better and hopefully he can keep going from here.” Explained Spliet.
The son of Cosmic Rumble and Saint Dora stepped beautifully from box two, clocking 10.74 to the first mark and was never headed in a comfortable two length win, recording a sensational run home of 11.58.
The fawn chaser saluted on debut in 21.98 over the 384m at Wauchope; however it wasn’t until start number twelve at Maitland, where an outstanding 22.43 performance stamped his authority as a brilliant short course specialist. The 30kg dog continued to lower his personal best over the subsequent weeks to 22.38.
Hunter Hummer turned three years old last month and now has twenty wins from just forty-two starts, including ten minor placings.
