Jeffkins Novice Series At The Gardens

The Jeffkins Novice Series kicks off at today with five heats for the fourth and fifth graders over the 515 metres.

One of the highlights will be the 515 metre debut of promising chaser Leanne Robbo. Owned and trained by the inform husband and wife team of Gary and Eileen Robertson at Williamstown, Leanne Robbo steps out in race two, the second heat of Jeffkins Novice Series, set to jump at 4.13pm AEST

The daughter of and Rose Robbo has won three of her last four starts over The Gardens 400 metre circuit, all by big margins and today she look's suited by the step up in distance, despite drawing the extreme outside.

Hardest to beat for Leanne Robbo look to be Shy Flyer (1), He's A Player (3) and Wave To Betty (5), all winners over the course and distance in slick time.

The form analyst is also tipping Leanne Robbo to win, but thinks that punters can start the day off well, declaring the best bet of the meeting in race one, the first heat of the Jeffkins Novice Series, saying;

“TERIV (1), good beginner with early speed that led most of the way when easy winner resuming here 2 starts ago, honest effort at last start, the one to beat”

Teriv trained at Swan Bay by Neil Docherty and is a half sister to 2008 , . The daughter of and has won three races from 12 starts, with five minor placings and will be aided by the coveted rails ally this afternoon.

The most intriguing race of the day is race three, Stake over 600 metres. Promising Multicam Girl from box three is dropping a long way in class after running third in the Lord Mayor's Cup on Multicam Final night last Saturday.

The form line through outstanding Victorian galloper Decembrist and The Gardens 515 metre track record holder, Velocity Cloud looks a very strong one for today's assignment. Pitted against Multicam Girl is the talented High Ball (1), the consistent Emo Appeal (2), winner Cristalle (5) and track specialist Simply A Miss (7).
