After originally being drawn as reserve, Leaving Debree turned in a best of the night performance when gaining a run from box 6 in a 4/5 Grade 400m event on July 8.
Owned and trained by John Harris this Go Wild Teddy ex Flying Reckless black dog landed some very healthy wagers when scoring by 4 lengths in a smart 23.20.
Having his first run on the track proved no problem for Lochinvar Polo, when he led throughout to score over the 515m journey in a smart 30.01. Owned by Clare Gordon and trained by Robert Smith, Lochinvar Polo has now had 21 starts for 11 wins and 4 minor placings. No doubt a return to city racing will be on the agenda in the near future.
Another greyhound to impress on the night was What A Goodwin. Owned by B. Young and G. David and trained by Bryan Young at Kearsley, What A Goodwin was having his first try over the 600m and was most impressive scoring by 6 ¼ lengths in a fast 35.41, after posting some very smart sectionals.
Other good wins on the night were recorded by Bo Johnson for Ken Cheetham (the dog ran 30.14 over the 515m trip), and Casey’s Run a first starter for Mark Sattler. By Brett Lee ex Sally’s Run, Casey’s Run recorded 23.34 for the 400m journey when scoring by 12 lengths.
