Littermates Scores Casino Doubles Twice

Two sets of litter mates gave local trainers Chris Schaefer and winning doubles at the meeting on Friday.

Chris won with Procord and Taxapro, and they both scored victories in 3rd and 4th grade events.

Procord came home with a “wet sail” to tip out by a head in the Casino RSM Club stake clocking 27.64, and in somewhat different fashion, Taxapro led all of the way in the Ranvet stake. She clocked the best of the day over 411 metres running 23.06. Chris bred the litter by his grand old campaigner Cruz Pro from the dam Pro Baby.

Earlier, Rob scored with Within and Smokes Liftin'. They are by from With Integrity, and look to have good careers ahead of them. Within Radar got to the front at the top turn and went on to score by three lengths in 23.58, whilst Smokes Liftin' kicked away to win by 5 3/4 lengths in a fast 23.09.

Sunburnt Tzar won the Blue Paws final for Garry Cluss in strong fashion. A heat winner the previous week, he was second most of the way, before hooking around the leader on the bend and racing clear. He ran a creditable 27.71 in saluting by 1 1/4 lengths.

It seems a long time since Bob Alchin led in a Casino winner, but it was his turn this week with leading throughout in the Charcoal Inn Maiden. She looked perfectly boxed on the rails and never left the issue in doubt winning by four lengths. Bob has been a little quiet of late with his team, and the win might kick start the kennel's run.

was expected to lead in the Casino Rural Traders distance stake and the punters were right on target. She came out running, and although the runner up tried hard, he was no match for the winner going down by 3 1/4 lengths. It was Ellie Vista's second distance win for trainer Julie Gauld, and she ran a personal best time of 35.65.

Gavin Lowe is having a fair “trot” at present and it continued with Crikey Crowd running the best time over 484 metres – 27.45, and John Mc Grory's team kept up the momentum with running 23.16 in the opening event.

Token Sentence won for running 27.56, while Casual Chief railed well throughout to win for Gary Gardiner and Reg Gardoll in 27.79.

Casino will hold another quality TAB program this Friday afternoon.
