Montana Belle Too Good In Tamworth Cup

Rising star capped off a memorable month of racing claiming back to back Country Challenge Series in winning the Cup on Saturday in a flying 25.88 in front of a strong crowd.

The impeccably bred daughter of Cool and started an 11/8 joint favourite with grand performer Sin's Spirit but the trained galloper used her rails draw to her advantage in drawing away for a convincing 2 ¾ length victory over Sin's Spirit with Our Elite Belle a further 4 ¼ lengths away in third.

A jubilant Greg Board who has had a great run of success in recent months was ecstatic with the victory and had nothing but praise for the presentation of the Tamworth Track.

Sharing his success he shouted the bar for the locals for the afternoon which was warmly received by all in attendance.

The Consolation was won by the consistent for trainer in 26.02. The son of Hallucinate has recorded some nippy times in his 5 career victories and was a deserved winner of the event winning by 3 lengths from Future Fund with Dodgy Customer third a further 5 lengths away.

The other feature of the day was the running of the Cup Carnival Novice over the 402 metres carrying $750 to the winner.

The Carnival has unearthed some talented sprinters who are sure to go on to bigger and better things in coming months.
