My Bella Rose Lands The 2013 Dapto Puppy Classic

In brilliant leading fashion, My Bella Rose (Box 6) has taken out the $75,000 2 Country Motor Company at on Thursday night.

Trainer, Alan Manwaring, had stated earlier in the week that if Exhibitionist (Box 2) made an error at the start, his greyhound looked the likely leader. Manwaring's judgment proved correct.

When the lids opened, Exhibitionist didn't jump as well as hoped. She bumped off Kev (Box 3) and was also hampered by Obee One (Box 4) who was crossing over to the rail. Meanwhile, My Bella Rose had a mile of room inside her as Gold Hunter (Box 5) stepped ordinary. While all the bumping was happening on the inside, My Bella Rose was able to cross to the lead unimpeded.

Lachlan Bomber (Box 8) and Lana Banrani (Box 7) were working hard to cross from the outside but didn't have the pace to overcome Obee One and Little Elsie (Box 1). At this stage, My Bella Rose had skipped clear. Down the back, My Bella Rose was five lengths clear of the chasers Little Elsie and Obee One.

Lani Banarni loomed up on the fence to join Little Elsie and Obee One approaching the run out of the back straight into the home turn, but was disappointed for a run. Exhibitionist suffered a similar fate attempting to make a run along the rail behind Lani Banarni and ran out of room. Spring Creek Kev was finishing hard to round up the pack on the final corner but Obee One shifted wide and interrupted his run. Gold Hunter (Box 5) then made his customary run for home and came from the clouds to run into second place and finish three and three quarter lengths behind My Bella Rose. Little Elsie stuck on valiantly for third.

The time for the final was 30.38. It was win number four for the tiny black bitch by Where's Pedro ex. Ima Osti who ran winning sections of 5.39 early, 17.21 down the back and a run home of 13.17.
