Nevada Sunrise Takes BON Honours At Gosford

Nevada Sunrise returned to the winners list with a B.O.N 30.29secs at Gosford on Tuesday night.

Owned by Gary Oldfield & trained by Tracey Bruce at Branxton, Nevada Sunrise came from third early to score a very convincing 6½ lens win over Teddy Flynn with Our Marion third. Nevada Sunrise has now had sixteen starts for five wins, five seconds & three thirds. Wouldn’t we all like to have one as consistent.

The FFA 400m race saw Display Bonus lead throughout for owner/trainer Evelyn Harris running a smart 10.83 early & 23.38 overall. Display Bonus has an imposing Gosford record of seven wins & five seconds from sixteen starts on the track.

It was good to see Barry Waters, trainer of Laurie’s Rocket back at the track on Tuesday, as he has not been enjoying the best of health recently.

Long time trainers Zadia & Eric Smith produced Twilight Glow to win race nine in 23.40 for the 400m journey. Originally drawn as a reserve Twilight Glow gained a start from box one & gave nothing else a chance with an all the way win. Well done Zadia & Eric.

After taking twenty five starts to rack up his maiden win Bamalicious made it two wins & a second from his last three when he came with a well timed run to win the last race on the night. Having only his second look at Gosford 600m, Bamalicious trailed the speed early before railing to the lead on the home turn to score a good win.

Next week sees the Gosford heats of the Vic Peters Classic, with the winner of the following week’s Final being seeded through to the semi finals at Wentworth Park.
