Punters Club Dog Remains Unbeaten

Not many greyhounds can win their first three races, let alone win the third race by eight lengths. That's exactly what the greyhound did on night at Greyhound Race track.

Starting from box four, the Punter's favourite jumped out of the boxes well and half way down the
straight the first time he had taken the lead and it was there he would stay.

Challenged by Graceful Amy on the back straight, Carlson Bale put down the accelerator and stretched away from the rest of the pack and to the delight of the better than average crowd that attended the Richmond track on a cold Friday night.

On the final bend, Carlson Bale continued to drive away and on the line scored an eight length victory in a smart time of 30.52 seconds, half a second faster than any other winner over the distance on the night.

Trainer of The Punter's Club star said he was impressed with the strength of the win and will now look at taking him into tougher competition at or in the next couple of weeks.

“Yeah he went fantastic, he has done everything right, it was a fantastic run,” Mr Wheeler said. “It was the first time where he has calmed down a bit in the boxes and he didn't make any noise or do anything wrong so we are finally getting there. Its my head versus his head at the moment and we are having a bit of a battle but he went faster again than what he did the other week so he is certainly showing something.”

Brendan plans to give Carlson Bale a quiet week and make sure everything is right with him before he plans his racing programme for the next couple of weeks.
