Where's Pedro speedster Somebody Tifi was the first chaser to catch the eye when clocking a fast 22.54 seconds for the 400 metre trip in race three. The two year old dog jumped well from the checks and showed a terrific turn of foot, quickly landing in the prime position before running away to score by a widening four lengths for South Nowra trainer Owen Makin. The stunning black greyhound that like the previous winner is by champion sire Where's Pedro is out of the beautifully bred Fancy Jaffa. Zulu Zircon began like a rocket from the rails alley and never looked in danger, putting on a spectacular display to win by four and three quarter lengths in a scorching 26.24 seconds for the 472 metre trip. The speedster is certainly bred to run, with his dam a member of the terrific Collision x Flash Fancy litter which included Fancy Ace, Fancy Al, Smooth Fancy- winner of the 2010 Group One Sprint Championship, and Swift Fancy with multiple members of this litter group race quality greyhounds.

Flash Fancy also produced the exceptional Perfect Fancy who was a finalist in three group one races and Fancy Tip who recently won the 2013 Group One Auckland Cup. Whilst Fancy Jaffa only raced twice she has certainly thrown some of her illustrious family speed into her progeny. Zulu Zircon's litter sister Sweet Melon looks to be a promising type winning at her first track appearance when clocking a fast 30.79 seconds at Richmond and Zulu Zeus who won his maiden at start four at Bulli last week in a nippy 26.20 seconds. It is fair to say that this litter has a very bright future, with the talented youngsters not turning two years of age until the 28th August. With so much speed already displayed on the racetrack it will be intriguing to watch them mature, with Hurst sure to install his many years of expertise into the pups.

Hurst left the track with two reasons to smile last night after putting the polish on two year old Rashad who notched up his third race in race eight. Whilst he was a sentimental favourite for the $75,000 decider, he had no luck in a roughly run race and finished well back running fifth. Now a winner of eight races from fourteen starts the Glenhaven greyhound should have plenty of victories left in him.

The last race of the night was definitely the most anticipated out of the ten with the hot pup Grandiose Love starting from box six. Beginning moderately from the awkward draw, the son of relished the two vacant boxes to his left and used his speed to cross the field, albeit with a slight bump, before stretching out to claim the event by four and three quarter lengths in an impressive 22.52 seconds on a rain affected track. This win was the promising sprinters second from as many starts, with his triumph last week in a 22.28 seconds- just .08 off 's 22.20 second track record.
