Murwillumbah trainer Steve Kavanagh has a leading hand in both of next week’s feature finals after landing four winners at Casino on Friday.
He had the fastest semi final winner in the Big Dog Pop Northfield maiden when Mystic Rumble clocked 23.06.
She showed good pace to rail under the leader in the back straight before racing away to win by 6 1/4 lengths. Earlier, her litter brother, Midnight Rumble was far too strong in his semi winning by 4 1/2 lengths in 23.10. Other winners to progress to the final were Dark Mariner who held the rails throughout to win by 2 1/4 lengths in 23.18 for Shane Robinson and Kelsey Kate who just kept coming on the outside to run 23.21 for George Morscel.
Rumble Supreme kept the “Rumble” moniker in the limelight when he ran 27.36 in his heat of the Casino RSM Club / DG Waldron feature, while Shane Robinson also has a final runner in that event with Tylah’s Impact running 27.32. She crossed well from the outside to grab the front at the first bend. Write Off Bart also led from the early stages to run 27.44, whilst the other heat went to Bogata who ran 27.50 for Gary Petterson.
Trainer Pat Lavis is having a good run at present, and it continued with Robyn’s Karanne leading all of the way in the South Casino Butchery Free For All. She’s now won nine races on the Casino circuit and was too solid winning by 1 3/4 lengths in a good 23.10.
The other top grade race, this time over 484 metres, went to Classy Kate. She has been a model of consistency for her trainer Claude Dacey, and she grabbed the leader Too Many Kisses down the side, before winning by 1 3/4 lengths. It was her eighth win here.
Greetings finally broke through at her 23rd start to win the Capital Car Sales maiden in 28.18, and Gun Rumble topped off the Kavanagh juggernaut in the Charcoal Inn distance stake scoring by four lengths in 35.73. He was never on the track but still proved too strong.
Its all feature racing at this Friday’s TAB meeting with another srong twelve event TAB Card.
