True Blue Ethics & Kobi Jay Earn Golden Easter Egg Starts

True Blue Ethics and Kobi Jay joined the list of prelude winners, which now have the luxury of a cemented spot in the heats of the Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg on March 16.

Coming off an impressive placing in the recent Group 3 Bulli Gold Plate, True Blue Ethics continued the run of strong form, leading all the way in the opening prelude of the night. The 30.28 victory continued the enjoyable ride for owner-trainer David Smith, who has been impressed with his runners over recent weeks.

With only two preludes on the card, it was Kobi Jay, trained by Ron Bell which scored victory in the second run-off, in a quick 30.08, given track conditions.

Connections of Kobi Jay are now in a wonderful position of being able to choose whether to utilise the priority entry gained from the prelude win, or line up in the Macro Meats New Sensation series commencing on Friday, March 15. A winner of nine from 19 starts, Kobi Jay just qualifies for the 27month of age series, which has attracted plenty of attention from participants.

Saturday’s Wentworth Park meeting saw impressive runs from a number of other Easter feature aspirants, including Punch One Out, Sometimes Speedy, Zipping Milo, Magnum Blast, One Inch Punch (520m) and Thrilling Frank (720m).

Richmond Vale trainer, Jason Mackay, continued on from his recent Group 1 Futurity success, with four winners on tonight’s (Saturday, February 23) ten race card. Annually Mackay has a strong team for the Wentworth Park Easter Carnival, with 2013 likely to be no different.

Trainers looking to secure a run in the Golden Easter Egg are encouraged to use the final week of preludes, with up to three to be drawn next Saturday night.

Interstate runners looking to enter the Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg series are encouraged to contact the NSW GBOTA Racing team to discuss your current grade at Wentworth Park on a Saturday night, and event conditions.
