Veyron Bale Strikes In Centrebet Paws Of Thunder

In a night of long price winners, it was Veyron Bale which posted the fastest heat win in Saturday night's (520m) series.

With eight qualify events run and won, each winner will now line up in next Saturday's (January 19) $100,000 to the winner final.

The opening heat was taken out by Cavendish Flyer, which snuck under early leader Grigorieva Bale in the home straight to snatch victory. Owner/Trainer Geoff Sattler, from Marks Point in NSW, was elated with the victory, and now hopes to make the most of next week's final birth.

Arguably the toughest qualifier of the night went to 's runner Sheikha. Having shown plenty of ability to date, the daughter of x I'm Exceptional was able to lead all the way in 29.93, and returned over $30 for punters in NSW.

's Fully Advanced continued the large returns for punters in the third heat, leading all the way in 29.72 over Miss Mozoltov and Pop's Max. The Victorian trainer continued the good run in the next heat with Imry Bale scoring the chocolates for connections, after receiving a start from box two. The first reserve was able to make the most of her strong beginning, holding out Closing Time and Magnum Blast in the run to the line.

For the punters which stuck with the interstate raiders, heat five again proved profitable with Victorian runners finishing one-two. After setting up a dominant lead in the back straight, 2012 winner Spud Regis, was overpower on the line by Oomoo. The win a reward for connections, who had contemplated scratching the greyhound on Saturday morning due to fires in regional Victoria.

got her chance to take centre stage in heat six and seven with Veyron Bale and Streetbike Tommy both recording good wins. Veyron Bale's 29.64 win, the quickest of the night, was a dominant display with the greyhound recording his second win from just three starts at Wentworth Park.

NSW starter, Ritza Ryder, landed the final win of the night in 29.69, winning by 5 1⁄4 lengths and booking his spot in the $100,000 final for and his team.
