Following last Thursday night’s one-off SA Heat of the Platinum Paws, Jaykayell has earned the right to represent South Australia in New Zealand for the Platinum Paws.
Showing brilliant early pace, the Troy Murray trained greyhound was never in danger after that and stopped the clock to win in 29.88. The speedster had had much luck at recent runs, but last night he appreciated being up front throughout.
Jaykayell will now travel to Christchurch, courtesy of Greyhound Racing New Zealand, to contest the Platinum Paws Semi-Finals on Friday 10th October. The Final at Addington on the 17th October carries a total stake of $250,000.
Troy’s father Ray will accompany the greyhound to NZ and the pair are not strangers to the process. Ray took Romeo Brass to Christchurch for Troy for the Sister City Cup in 2007 where he ran a valiant second.
