Outstanding Youngsters Hit The Gardens For The Mega Maiden Heats
Some of the best bred greyhounds in the country will converge on The Gardens today for the heats of the Greyhound Recorder Mega Maiden with the aim of making it into next week's rich final worth $15,000 to the winner.
Sons of 2006 Australian Greyhound of the Year, Betty's Angel and her Group One winning litter sister, Leprechaun Pace headline an outstanding crop of youngsters that are set to clash in the prestigious maiden series.

The kick off the heats we have a very interesting affair. Cousin Callum has trialled in slick time for top trainers Ray and Sharron Webster and is from the outstanding Thai Magic. Bitten is a half sister to record breakers Bartrim bale and Princess Bale as well atop galloper Whitfield Bale, while Splendourous is from the strong Loraine Atchison breed.

Ritza Ronnie, very closely related to Things Missing, by Spiral Nikita and champion bitch Betty's Angel, his brother Ed Pacino has shown tremendous ability. Mr. Pricklepants is another well bred youngster, by Where's Pedro out of top producer Paris St Germain and is trained out of the oaks by Shaun Evens.

Knocka Knows All is reportedly one of the hottest youngsters around. Champion trainer Reg Kay, who also trained his sire Knocka Norris has and sent his specifically for this feature. Nova Vite is a half sister to star bitch Nova Surf, a winner of the Group Two Warrnambool Cup and Dyna Kate a litter mate to Bitten.

Magic Castle is one of the best bred dogs in the country, by Where's Pedro out of Ice Dancer, a daughter of Spiral Nikita and Association Cup winner Many Tricks, and he expected to be well schooled in preparation for his debut today. Latina is another from the next litter to star chaser Nova Surf in the care of local trainer John Sweet.

In the last heat, Kingpin Star should be all the rage for top Sydney trainers Tracey and Frank Hurst. The son of all conquering Brett Lee and Golden Easter Egg finalist Dusty Retreat has trailed fast and looks the one to beat.
