Peita Duncan named new Greyhound Racing Victoria Chair

The Victorian Andrews Labor Government has as chair of Greyhound , and reappointed fellow board member for two further years.

Minister for Racing congratulated Ms Duncan and Mr Dunne, saying they had served the GRV board with distinction.

Ms Duncan has been acting GRV chair for several months and now takes over permanently from , who stepped down on June 30 following four years in the position.

Ms Duncan has extensive experience in business development, sales and management and has helped steer the greyhound industry through significant .

Mr Dunne served as a police officer for 40 years and retired at the rank of assistant commissioner. He is an acknowledged expert in the area of and has been a member of the GRV board since 2016.

Mr Dunne is also a vice-president of the Football Club and was a member of the Tigers' 1980 premiership team.

The industry generates $500 million annually for the Victorian economy and helps sustain more than 4,300 full-time-equivalent jobs.

Ms Duncan's appointment as GRV chair is effective until July 2021.
