Prince Holyfield Out To Emulate Champion Mum In Meadows Vic Breeders Final

The royally bred Prince Holyfield will look to match the feats of his dam Betty's Angel in the GRV Vic. Breeders Maiden Final over 525 metres at on Saturday night.

Betty's Angel – a champion of the sport for the Bartolo family – took out the 2006 series at The Meadows, and now has two of her progeny (Prince Holyfield and Token Spinner) aiming to emulate her success from five years ago.

Trained by , Prince Holyfield will start from box eight in Saturday's final after an all the-way 30.11 win last week – the quickest among the four semi finals. His brother Token Spinner hasn't fared as well after the box draw, as he will have to overcome box five to win the quality-laden final.

One of the main dangers to the Betty's Angel duo appears to be the unbeaten Fully Advanced, who has won his two starts by a combined margin of 19 and three quarter lengths.

The son of and (a sister to 1 winner ) is blessed with early speed, and will appreciate his draw of three on Saturday night.

He too will be joined by a littermate, with Just Tripping (box six) earning his place in the final after a second-placed effort behind Prince Holyfield last week.

The major chances are rounded out by Max A Zillion (box seven), who overcame a bumping duel in last week's semi-final to score in 30.46 after a solid 30.39 heat win a fortnight ago.

The winner of Saturday's final will take home $12,000, and further $2,400 will be added to the bank if the winning greyhound is nominated. Furthermore, the breeders of the eight finalists will receive extra cash bonuses in line with the placing of their greyhound.
