Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club Financial Records Under Investigation

Limited (RQL) today announced that it had been advised by the of an alleged significant internal fraud/misappropriation.

The club advised RQL that a significant amount of club funds were believed to have been misappropriated and that a club employee had made admissions to police and had been charged with two offences relating to the matter.

It is understood that club officials contacted police after discovering $200,000 in financial irregularities.

Queensland police officers say a 36-year old woman has since been charged with fraud and is due to face court next month.

While the club is responsible for handling its own cash, maintaining financial records and implementing appropriate fraud control strategies, given the potential impact on the industry of a major club being affected to a significant , RQL is appointing forensic auditors to review the financial records of the club.
