Fabulous night for Elson with the progeny of Regal Silver
QUEENSLAND trainer Bill Elson had a busy night at Albion Park on Thursday, with the progeny of his sensational brood bitch Regal Silver (Surf Lorian x Wongawillisue) showcasing just what a great producer she has been.
In total, seven of her sons and daughters, from three separate sires, faced the starter across seven races, six of them in heats of the Listed Flying Amy Classic and Albion Park Gold Cup.
In order, Regal Silver's contenders were:
– Fabulous Cyndie (by Fabregas), a winner of six races in 26 starts, who ran seventh in the first heat of the Flying Amy Classic.
– Fabulous Bill (by Fabregas), who won the second heat of the Flying Amy in sensational style, recording a fast 29.96.
– Fabulous Hope (by Fabregas), with seven wins in 30 outings, who placed third in the third heat of the Flying Amy.
– Cosmo Cyndie (by Cosmic Chief), with a record of 10 starts for three wins finished third in the fourth heat of the Flying Amy.
– Cyndie's Magic (by Magic Sprite) won the third heat of the 710-metre Albion Park Gold Cup, taking her record to 23 wins from 75 starts.
– Abby's Magic (by Magic Sprite) who finished second in the fourth heat of the Gold Cup behind Obi Kenobi.
– Hope's Magic (by Magic Sprite), a winner of 20 races from 68 starts, who finished third in the Best 8 520-metre event behind Zambora Brockie.
Regal Silver raced 63 times in her career but only managed nine wins and 13 placings and never won beyond 460m. Yet she has proven to be a brilliant matron with 28 pups from four matings and all of them winners.
Her first litter, by Premier Fantasy, were whelped in November 2011 and included the smart Cyndie's Special (second 2014 National Sprint Championship Queensland Final, second 2014 Queensland Futurity, third 2014 Gold Coast Cup, fourth 2014 Brisbane Cup, fifth 2015 National Sprint Championship Queensland Final, sixth 2014 Ipswich Gold Cup), Bill's Fantasy (seventh 2013 Albion Park Young Guns, second 2014 Lismore Cup, second 2015 Rockhampton Cup, fourth 2014 Gold Coast Cup), Hope's Fantasy (Won 2013 Molly Campbell Silver Dollars) and Abby's Fantasy (third 2014 Queensland Futurity).
Regal Silver's second litter, by Magic Sprite, were whelped in March 2013 and includes the likes of Cyndie's Magic, Abby's Magic and Hope's Magic, all of whom raced on Thursday night and have been competitive in Group-class contests.
Regal Silver's third litter, by Fabregas, were whelped in December 2013 and the standouts among the 10 puppies have been Fabulous Bill and Fabulous Cyndie. The other eight in the litter have won between one and seven races so far.
In September 2014 Regal Silver whelped her fourth litter, to Cosmic Chief. The four puppies have commenced their careers with Cosmo Waz a winner of two races, Cosmo Trav has one win, while both Cosmo Bill and Cosmo Cyndie have registered three wins apiece.
RQ would prohibit her from breeding if they followed their own stupid rules or at best the owner would need to seek permission to breed.
