Molly Campbell Silver Dollars Heats Up Tonight

The heats of the will ignite with some of Brisbane's best emerging chasers this Thursday night.

The feature trophy race worth $5,000 to the winner is named after renowned greyhound enthusiast and Queensland Greyhound Form Guide pioneer, Molly Campbell, who started the Molly Campbell Silver Collar in 1974 at .

The Collar was later relocated to Albion Park in 1997 and renamed the Molly Campbell Silver Dollars. Sadly, Molly Campbell passed away in 1998 but the race continues on in her legacy.

This year's Molly Campbell Silver Dollars features four quality heats starting with 's smart dog in Heat One (Race Five).

Jumping from box six is going to be a tough ask for the Trewly Special bred-performer who will need to find the same early box speed from two starts ago if he is to take on Lilly's Pride in box four.

Lilly's Pride is sure to find the fence early, with consistent first sectionals of around 5.76, and jumping from a more favourable box four.

Trained by Sandra Hunt, Lilly's Pride showed how to finish off a 520m sprint last week, winning in 30.21 from box two.

In Heat Two (Race Six) Bruce Linnan's Fully Worked looks the goods from box one, with a record of five starts for three wins over the distance at Albion Park, the last of which was a very sharp 30.17.

Wearing the red is sure to be an enormous advantage for the promising dog, particularly is he can repeat the 5.68 first sectional from last week.

The only competitor in this with similar best time is Genuine in box seven, and will be wanting to improve his box speed if he is to be competitive, running times of 5.84.

Heat Three (Race Seven) three greyhounds seem to be the top choices, with Pacific Maestro in box one, Honey Lass in box three, and Run Nelson Run in box eight, who all seem of similar abilities.

However, Run Nelson Run has been improving each start, and it wouldn't surprise to see him gain a spot in the final for trainer Bob Giltinan.

The last heat of the night (Race Eight) will see Arrhythmia, Myth Buster and go head to head.

Myth Buster has been running very solid first sectionals in his past few starts in the low 5.70's and showed true ability to beat Witheren's Fool on October 1 in 30.20.

Patricia Comley's Spring Our Ping has also been running well, and has considerable experience on most of the field, with 26 starts under his belt.

's Arrythmia is also one to keep an eye on from box three, only missing out on a top three finish once out of five starts and boasting a descent best time of 30.31.

Other racing on the Thursday night Albion Park card includes a solid 710m race.

Last week She's A Penske beat the regular stayers field by only a nose in front of .

Miss Jersey is yet to find a win after stepping up in distance only two weeks ago, and this week jumps from box one. Being its third start over the 710m, it will be a very strong chance.

  • Race 2 Number 1 Miss Jersey
  • Race 4 Number 5
