It was a stellar year for Queensland greyhounds on the racetrack with a significant number of individual Group race winners and local greyhounds winning both the National Sprint and Distance titles.
Each of the three finalists produced outstanding performances during 2011.
Bogie King won the Group 1 National Derby and the Group 2 Queensland Derby, and was placed in the Group 1 Topgun.
Dashing Corsair won the Group 1 National Distance Championship, becoming the first greyhound to win both the National Sprint and Distance titles. He also won the Group 3 Big Dog Cup and Group 3 Superstayers, and was placed in the Group 1 Association Cup and the Group 2 Wentworth Park Gold Cup.
The winner will be announced at the RQs Greyhound Awards night to be held at the Sofitel Brisbane on Saturday February 18, 2012.
