The old saying ‘success breeds success’ may have proved correct for Queensland and Australian cricket star Ryan Harris and his first venture into greyhound racing.
Known for his formidable pace bowling for both the Queensland Bulls and Australian Test and One Day sides Harris is a part owner of Just Coincidence – who last night qualified for the final of the Group 1 Garrard’s Winter Carnival Cup.
Harris appears to have the ‘Midas touch’ as with his meteoric rise to the top of Australian Cricket, Just Coincidence will contest the Group 1 final in only her 16th career start.
Just Coincidence is owned by the ‘Between the Wickets’ syndicate of which Harris is a member along with fellow Queensland Bulls star Chris Swan.
The black race bitch, trained by one of the nations leading trainers Tony Brett, has won 8 races in her short career and while running second in her heat to qualify, has drawn favourable for the Group 1 final in box 2.
The Garrard’s Winter Carnival Cup, hosted by the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club, will be run at the Albion Park Raceway on Thursday 30th June and features a first prize purse of $50,000.
