Totalled Not “Totally Clean” Says Greyhounds Queensland

On the back of several other cases of to , have found greyhound trainer guilty of racing his greyhound under the influence of Theobromine.

Greyhounds Queensland Stewards convened an on the 16th January 2009 in relation to the urine sample taken from the greyhound “Totalled” which competed on the 25th of November 2008 at the in Race 5 (placed 8th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Theobromine.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Joshua Allen of Withcott to appear.

Evidence was taken from Mr. Allen.

Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;

  • (2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
  • (a) nominated to compete in an Event
  • (d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug

Mr. Allen pleaded guilty as charged.

Mr. Allen was fined $250.

Greyhounds Queensland Stewards also disqualified Totalled from its last placing at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 25th of November 2008.
