Queensland greyhound breeder’s bonuses are back

More than $75,000 will be distributed back to Queensland-bred greyhounds throughout the month of June thanks to a new (RQ) greyhound .

A payment of $200 will be awarded for every Queensland-bred winner at a meeting in the Sunshine State, applicable to all races with a split of 40% to the breeder, 40% to the owner, and 20% to the trainer.

Only greyhounds registered in Queensland with a ‘Q’ ear brand will be deemed eligible for the bonus, with payments made weekly.

“The Queensland-bred bonus is designed to encourage our local chasers to compete throughout the month of June and in particular, the Queensland Winter Greyhound Racing Carnival,” Racing Queensland EGM Operations said.

“We want to invest back into the greyhound industry and ensure its sustainability here in Queensland for many years to come.”

The Queensland-bred bonus is the latest initiative to returns back to greyhound racing participants, as the code continues to experience exponential growth.

As a part of the upcoming Queensland Winter Greyhound Racing Carnival, each of the 13 black-type features have received a prizemoney uplift, headlined by the which will now be run for $525,000.

The 1 also received a significant $75,000 increase – now worth $225,000.
