The saying “keeping up with the Jones’” was never truer than at today’s Mt Gambier meeting, where the husband and wife combination of David and Toni Jones won five of the ten races on the card.
Incredibly they only had runners in six of the ten races on offer, so to have five winners was an amazing result for the Devon Meadows couple.
David had two winners, with Noisemaker winning in race one and kennelmate Black As Night running second. Blitzem Miss won the second race, continuing the great start to the day. Toni won three races, with Our Blue Earner in race three, Twistex in race five and Fred Best in race six. Unfortunately for the camp David Best couldn’t get the money in race seven, finishing out of the money, but no doubt it was a day to remember for the Jones kennel.
David and Toni have been great supporters of the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club and regularly cross the border to compete at the South East venue. With the increased prizemoney on offer for the new season, it seems a guarantee that “keeping up with the Jones’” will be a regular occurrence.
