Michael Stewart Fined For Race Night Indiscretion

South Australian Greyhound on Monday 15th August 2011 completed an into incidents in the kennel house at on 28th July2011 prior to and following the running of race 11 involving trainer Mr .

Stewards after taking into consideration evidence from Mr Stewart, Mrs. Jones (), Miss. Lakatos (Kennel House Attendant), Mr. Foster (Owner),and a written submission from Mr. Volbrecht (Steward) formed the opinion there was sufficient evidence to lay 2 charges against Mr. Michael Stewart.

The first charge laid was :

OFFENCES, INQUIRIES and PENALTIES – R86 Offences
A person (including an official) shall be guilty of an offence if the person-
(o) has, in relation to a greyhound or greyhound racing, done a thing, or omitted to do a thing, which, in the opinion of the Stewards or the Controlling Body, as the case may be, is negligent,dishonest, corrupt, fraudulent or improper, or constitutes ;

Mr. Stewart pleaded not guilty to the charge laid and after being found guilty of the offence was fined the sum of $150.

The second charge laid by stewards was

OFFENCES, INQUIRIES and PENALTIES – R86 Offences
A person (including an official) shall be guilty of an offence if the person-
(p) disobeys or fails to comply with the lawful order of a Steward or other person or body having official duties in relation to greyhound racing;

Mr. Stewart pleaded guilty to the second charge laid and was fined the sum of $450
