South Australian National Distance Heat Called No Race
Race 3 last night at Angle Park the TattsBett.com National Distance State Heat 1 was declared a “No Race” due to the inconsistent distance of the lure from the lead greyhound during the running of this event.
This was caused by the jaws of the carriage not correctly engaging during the running of the event and therefore causing a slipping of the cable which resulted in a lack of control for the lure driver.
With Heat 1 of the National Distance State Series being declared a “No Race” the Stewards determined after interviewing all Trainers from the Heat and Club Officials that the preferred option was to do a public ballot to establish the qualifiers for the State Final.
The stewards conducted a public ballot later in the night and determined the four qualifiers for the State Final on Thursday 19th August with the fifth greyhound drawn declared a reserve.
The qualifiers were –
1.No Way Aaron
2.Tafari Bale
3.Snow Kist
4.Don't Tell Kerry
5.Hannah's Jinx (Res)
Texas Tiger qualified as a reserve when recording a time of 44.08 in running fifth in the second Distance Heat. Hannah's Jinx did not record a time due to the “No Race” before being declared a reserve by ballot.
Due to Texas Tiger having a recorded time it was determined that he be declared the 1st reserve (No.9) and Hannah's Jinx the 2nd reserve (No.10).
Official box draws for the State Finals of the National Distance and Sprint to be conducted on Thursday 19th August 2010 at Angle Park.
