Seven heats of the Triple M 40th Adelaide Cup have been drawn for this Thursday night’s (6th October) meeting at Angle Park.
GRSA received 56 final nominations for the Group 1 series with 29 from South Australia, 26 from Victoria and 1 from New South Wales.
The Interstate contingent is led by dual Group 1 winner Kilty Lad for Lovely Banks trainer Kelly Bravo who will be looking to create history by becoming the first greyhound to win two Adelaide Cups in the same year after he took out the Cup in January.
This anomaly has been brought about by GRSA bringing the Cup forward to now secure a spot each year in October on the AGRA Group Racing Calendar. The heats also include Radley Bale, Aston Galilee, Don Chendo and NSW National Sprint winner Cold Fusion along with up and comers Cape Hawke, Mepunga Nicky and Yowyeh.
Local nominations include SA National Sprint winner Point Two Over for Rob Harnas and last start Sister Cities Cup placegetter Aston Thomas for Troy Murray.
The Triple M 40th Adelaide Cup Final carries total prizemoney of $107,500, with the winner to receive $75,000. With seven heats each winner and the fastest second placegetter will progress through to the Group 1 Final on Thursday 13th October.
