Seek and Destroy’s Them In The Association Cup Final

Some mid week box work from the Azzopardi camp seemed to prove the trick when Seek and Destroy jumped with them on Saturday night, and held off mr consistent , to give Anthony his second win and his first One win of 2011.

After hitting the front at the winning post the first time around, Seek and Destroy would have felt Dashing Corsair breathing down his neck however the son of and Miss Hanify held off his rivals to claim a well deserved victory in a time of 43.00.

During last years Melbourne Cup heats, the brindle dog ran an amazing second to superstar after finding early trouble and it was inevitable that a big victory wasn't too far away as Azzopardi explained.

‘His always been so consistent and he tries so hard it was a great reward for him and the owner because he puts so much into the sport and the massive supporter base that I have makes the win so more exciting'.

The always excited Azzopardi said despite the class his dog had, the victory did come at a surprise to him.

‘When Dashing Corsair drew the one all I did was pray for some luck and he got it. We did some box work with Seek and Destroy during the week and it seemed to help because he jumped better than what he usually does'.

It gave the multiple group winning trainer a great sight as Seek and Destroy led Dashing Corsair by a length going past him at the 720 metre boxes.

‘I didn't mean to say it out aloud all I kept saying was cut him off, cut him off and he did a couple of times'.

Amidst all the excitement of the win, Azzopardi showed his class as a trainer by extending his sympathy to Dashing Corsair and trainer who were forced to travel by Helicopter for the stayer to take part in the race due to the recent floods that surrounded their property in Queensland.

‘It's a shame and I do feel sorry for them because under the circumstances he wouldn't have had much work and the trip down wouldn't have helped.'

Seek and Destroy added his 18th win to his resume on Saturday night from 41 starts with 11 minor placings. He comes from a highly talented litter with his sister, Hanify's Belle trained by , finishing third behind him in the Association Cup and also includes multiple group winner Hanify's Impact. It seems with his impressive performance, another group victory won't come as such a surprise.
